New Paper Published in Springer Nature Virtual Reality (Q1)

Our new paper titled "NumbersPlayRoom VR: a serious game for supporting numerical cognition in primary school children" has been published in the Q1 journal Virtual Reality by Springer Nature. The study explores an immersive VR serious game designed to support the learning of fundamental numerical skills in primary school children, including those with learning difficulties.

Mobile LAB Member Starts PhD in Brain, Mind & Computer Science

Starting November 1st, a member of Mobile LAB will officially begin their PhD in Brain, Mind & Computer Science.

Informatiche per un Giorno

On May 16, our research group will take part in the international May12 – Celebrating Women in Mathematics initiative with “Informatiche per un giorno”, a hands-on workshop designed for primary school girls to introduce them to the world of computer science in a creative and engaging way.

ACM Best Poster Award at SAC 2026

Mirko Franco, Salvatore Gatto, Matteo Noro, Lorenzo Perinello, and Claudio E. Palazzi won the Best Poster Award for the paper entitled "Crowdsensing Wayfinding for Urban Mobility Accessibility" at the ACM SAC 2026 in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Visit of Prof. Stefania Serafin

We are pleased to announce that from January 19 to 22, 2026, we will host Prof. Stefania Serafin (Copenhagen hearing and balance center, Rigshospitalet). As part of the Colloquia Patavina series, Stefania Serafin will give a talk entitled “The Mathematics of Multisensory Experiences: From Musical Instruments to Accessible Virtual Worlds.

New PhD Student Joins the Lab

We welcome our new PhD student, Salvatore Gatto, who will work on digital accessibility research with a focus on mobile and web systems, multimodal interaction techniques, and inclusive user interface design.

Best Paper Award at Sense XR 2025 Conference

Our collaborator, Matteo Noro, won the Best Paper award for the paper "Virtual reality to enhance mathematical skills in children with learning difficulties: design and evaluation of NumbersPlayRoom VR."
